Scalp Micro Pigmentation for Women
How does Scalp Micro Pigmentation help women with hair loss?
Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a minimally invasive procedure yielding instantaneous results.
SMP, Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a minimally invasive cosmetic tattooing procedure utilizing a very fine needle and specialized ink along with a procedure-specific ink delivery device used by an SMP expert to create a flawless hairline, the appearance of added hair density, or for scar camouflage. When performed by an SMP expert, your results will be flawless and undetectable.
Women are now choosing Scalp Micro Pigmentation for a variety of reasons including:
- Hairlines – Recreate your lost and receded hairline with a custom hairline that compliments and frames your face and the shape of your head.
- Line Density – Parting your hair the same way, weaves, extensions, and braids can lead to traction alopecia, we can create density in these spots.
- Pattern Baldness – Whether you suffer from male or female pattern baldness, we can create the appearance of thick, strong hair for you.
- Scar Camouflage – Conceal the visibility of hair transplant and accident scaring with a blend of small color-matched hair follicles.

Women and hair loss
There are many reasons why a woman can lose hair, from medical conditions and stress to even pregnancy and nutrient deficiencies. Here are some of the most common reasons why a woman may experience hair loss.
Pregnancy
A woman during pregnancy has a surge in estrogen and progesterone, which reduces the amount of hair the body naturally sheds, leading to thicker, shinier hair. However, after giving birth, there’s a significant reduction in the amount of hormones the body creates, leading to a recalibration period in the body. This can lead to a “catch up” like phase where the body sheds excess amounts of hair.
Anagen effluvium
This type of hair loss is caused by medications that “poison” hair follicles leading to hair loss.
Female pattern hair loss (FPHL)
FPHL, also known as androgenic alopecia. This is the most common type of hair loss in both women and men. In women, androgenic alopecia usually begins in the part line, followed by gradual thinning and hair loss on top of the head.
Telogen effluvium
This is caused when there is an increase in the number of hair follicles in the telogen phase. During the telogen phase, hair falls out. An increase in the number of hairs in this phase can lead to noticeable hair loss.
